And customers would try to take it from the chair.

Magic Cream was one of the first products that Charlotte Tilbury made when she started her own brand 13 years ago. But back then, makeup was different. People didn’t really want “glow“; they wanted a matte, poreless face, not shine. But things are different now. Charlotte calls this time “generation exhausted.” We’re not getting as much sleep as we used to. Our stress levels are at an all-time high. The air is bad, the UV rays are strong, and the temperatures are high. Our skin care routines are full of strong actives and exfoliants. The pendulum has swung to healthy, glowing skin, and it’s harder than ever to get it.
What’s New in 2026
It made sense to boost the formula in 2026. Magic Cream now has what the brand calls the Recoverstem Peptide, which is a mix of 100 peptides taken from the stem cells of the Eternal Youth Jasmine plant. This plant is native to Ibiza, just like Charlotte. The plant never wilts because its cells are always being replaced. But what does it really do for your skin? It helps cells renew themselves, which starts the production of collagen and elastin. Over time, this can help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, make the skin more elastic and firm, fill in areas where volume has been lost, and even support the skin barrier. The new cream also stresses how important it is to calm the skin, so it has ectoin, rosehip oil, and oat extract in it, all of which help with irritation.

Testing the Magic Cream
I thought about all the hearts that would break when I first heard about Charlotte’s new Magic Cream. I’ve been a beauty editor for eight years, and I know how much people love this cream. In fact, I’ve gotten a lot of my friends to try it when I’ve had too many samples over the years. And I know how awful it is when your favourite product is suddenly replaced by a new one. But I never really liked this cream. I know it’s a great face primer (every time a Charlotte Tilbury artist does my makeup, I look my best), but I can’t use it all the time because it makes my acne-prone skin worse. What are the before and after pictures of this new version? They made me put it all over my face, even though I had zits.
Before I Tried
This is how I tested: Before I tried the cream, I flew across the ocean to the place where CT was born, and to be honest, my skin was a mess. I had a grade-A-level breakout, my skin looked dull and lifeless (January core), and my dark circles were at an all-time low. These are the best conditions to try out a new cream, right?
My Experience with the New Cream
I put this cream on my face a few times in the morning to see how well it would hold onto makeup, but I didn’t put it all over my face at night to avoid getting some breakouts. I decided to dab the formula under my eyes and all over my neck instead. These are two areas that could really use the help of those peptides.
Final Results
I noticed right away that Magic Cream feels just like the original when I put it on my skin. You wouldn’t know the formula was full of peptides if you didn’t know it. Well, until you looked in the mirror a few weeks later. The fine lines around my eyes are less noticeable, and the bags under my eyes look like I’m getting sleep again. I’m 29 and starting to think about taking better care of my neck and eyes, so for the last two months, I’ve been focusing on those two areas every night. And I can really tell the difference. In the morning, my eyes look brighter and more awake, and the bags under my eyes aren’t as big.
Breakouts and Makeup
The formula still has shea butter in it, which, sadly, does make me break out a lot. But for a special occasion, I’m willing to deal with the consequences because this makes my makeup look so good. This gives my foundation something to hold on to, no matter if I’m using a full-coverage matte or a glowy skin tint.

In conclusion, most of the time, reformulations are either boring or worse, a redo that makes you hoard the old formula on eBay. But Charlotte Tilbury knew better than to mess with a superstar like that unless she had something really good to replace it with. And to be honest, you probably wouldn’t even notice that it’s different. The texture is the same, but it has a lot of new ingredients that will make your skin better over time.
Is It Worth the Hype?
I can say that Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream is worth all the hype after using it for two months. My makeup looks better and lasts longer, but that’s not as important as how it has helped my fine lines and bags under my eyes.
