There are a lot of different ways to use flowers in perfume, but I always like fresh flowers best because they are pretty and classic. You can’t go wrong when you mix the strong scent of the petal with light and crisp notes. These scents are great for daytime wear.

But I don’t limit the category there are many ways I like to wear fresh flowers. When I want a scent that reminds me of the beach, I sometimes go aquatic. When I want something that smells surprisingly rich, I go creamy. And when I want something that smells subtle I go skin. There are many types of them, including solid perfumes, body mists, and hair perfumes. This list, which I put together has a little bit of everything, so you can wear fresh flowers in any way you want.
Cologne with Sea Salt and Wood Sage
I love BBC period dramas, and when I wear this scent, I feel like I’m in one. I picture myself walking along a windy beach on a lonely British coastline. Maybe picking up seashells or fossils. The unique blend really does take you to another place, like salt air and driftwood in a bottle. I love it forever because it gives me energy and lifts my spirits like a fresh breeze.
A hair mist makes any smell more interesting in some way. Just think about it: when you toss your hair, you leave a trail of perfume behind. I used to love putting perfume in my hair, but then I found out that alcohol can dry out hair. That’s why I only use hair perfumes that are made for hair now. In order to do this Sisley bottled up their signature scent, which is a bright fresh citrus-floral blend that nourishes the hair and scalp. Whenever I flip my hair, I feel like I’m sending out smells of a sunny drive along the Italian coast.
Lemon lavender verbena, mimosa flower, aromatic plant accord, and woody amber accord are all in this.
There aren’t many scents that are both fresh and cozy, but this one is. The name comes from a Brazilian Portuguese phrase that means good vibes happiness, and optimism, and this perfume definitely captures that feeling. It has a lot of Brazilian warmth and sunshine, and it makes me want to go to Rio.
Aldehydes coconut water, incense, jasmine petals, milky musks, sandalwood, cashmere wood and salted amber are some of the things that are in this.

Heretic Parfum ‘Til Death Solid Perfume Compact for $75 at GOOP
Okay, I know what you’re thinking: How can a perfume called “‘Til Death” be a new flower But please bear with me; it really is. Douglas Little, the founder of Heretic, a perfumer, and the executive creative director, has a wonderfully dark and gothic mind. This is why he was the perfect person to make a scent based on “The Bride!” a new version of the 1935 movie “The Bride of Frankenstein.” The perfume has a lot of different notes and is both earthy and soft. It smells mysterious and interesting, even though it has horror roots. The stylish mirrored compact also makes me want to show it off as much as I can.
Cedar frankincense jasmine sambac, rose, cypriol, orris, and orris and musk are some of the notes.
Fresh Floral Skin Scent at Its Best
$82 Glossier You Fleur Eau de Parfum at Sephora
It was Glossier You that made skin scents popular. (If you don’t know, that’s a type of perfume that is known for being soft and comforting and smelling a little different on everyone.) Fleur takes it up a notch by adding a soft floral note that is just strong enough to be noticed but not so strong that it goes too far outside of the category. I love how soft and cozy it is, like a blanket you love to snuggle up with.
Ylang ylang apricot skin, and ambrox are some notes.
White Tee Body and Hair Perfume Mist
Sephora
Yes, this does smell like a T-shirt that has just been washed. Think of it as the smell of clean laundry, but better and with more character It has a soft, powdery feel, but not like your mom’s laundry detergent. I like to spray it on when I think I need a little freshness.
Notes soft rose, cotton blossom, and lily water
Delina Eau de Parfum
The Best Romantic Fresh Floral Scent
When I take out this cute little bottle, I always think of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. It would look great, and it would smell great too. It looks and smells fancy, but the tassels on top make it a little too fancy. The juice has notes of rhubarb, lychee, and vanilla that remind me of all the fancy desserts the queen is always around in the movie. It also has Turkish rose and musk for extra romance.
Notes cashmeran musk, vetiver, rhubarb, lychee, bergamot essence, Turkish rose peony, and vanilla

Why should you believe Cosmopolitan?
Celia Shatzman she/her) is a journalist from Brooklyn who has been writing about beauty for 20 years and has the perfume collection to prove it. We’re talking about hundreds of bottles, not to brag. For people who love scents like her, petrichor is the smell of the desert after a rainstorm.
