The 2026 A-Z Guide to This Year’s Biggest Beauty Trends

A lot of beauty trends come and go, but after years of working in the field, I’ve learned which ones will last. Every year, I talk to experts and gather the biggest trends in skincare, makeup, hair, and nails for the season. I can easily tell which ones are worth your time and which ones will come and go.

Year's Biggest Beauty Trends
Year's Biggest Beauty Trends

I’m sure you’ve already seen a lot of information about the beauty tools, treatments, and tech to watch out for in the coming seasons as we enter a new year. But what new things will be just as popular as the year ends in 12 months? That’s where I come in.

I have a lot of information at my fingertips as a beauty editor. So much so that I spent most of November and December talking to people in the beauty industry, going through product samples and press reports on new beauty brands, and looking into the most popular products at some of the biggest stores to help me make a complete guide to the best beauty brands, ingredients, trends, and more that I know will be huge in 2026.

THE A-Z FORECAST FOR BEAUTY IN 2026

A: Abel

First, a scent brand that everyone should know about. Abel relaunched in late October of last year. The company makes its signature perfumes using biotechnology, natural isolates and upcycled ingredients to create scents that are both natural and high-performing. The whole line has been reformulated, and the concentration of perfume has gone up by 37%. This means that you can make a lasting impression with your scent without sacrificing quality. The bottles are also very stylish. I already know that in 2026 we’ll be looking for more unique hard-to-find scents, and that’s exactly what this brand has.

B: Biotech for the Body

I’m sure that body care will keep growing in 2026. Dr. Alexis Granite, a consultant dermatologist and the founder of Joonbyrd, says that this year is all about taking things to the next level. “We’ll keep seeing face-level innovation applied to the body: polynucleotides, exosomes, NAD+ precursors, and bio-fermented peptides that are meant to improve skin function and resilience over time. Skin longevity will become as important for the body as it is for the face.”

C: Chrono-Active Skin Care

Dr. Granite also thinks that we will start using chrono-active skincare which means that we will change our skincare routines based on the time of day. “In day vs. night formulations, innovation will work with the body’s natural rhythm. These formulations will change with hormonal and environmental changes,” she says. “Expect chrono-peptides, melatonin analogues, and timed-release antioxidants to help with repair, defence, and sleep quality.”

D: Dynamic Deodorant

As we said, the bodycare industry was doing very well at the end of 2025. Many brands were working on deodorant formulas that do more than just keep you dry. Based on some of the newest products that have come across my desk, this trend isn’t going away in 2026. It seems that more and more people want multipurpose formulas that smell good, look good, and are good for your skin.

What is the most talked-about new ingredient in the skincare industry? Exosomes. As beauty expert and aesthetician Grace Day explains in our bumper guide, “Exosomes are naturally occurring messengers that play a key role in how our cells communicate and repair themselves.” In the world of skincare, this could mean a big change for rejuvenation, healing, and glow. The only problem is that This is still very much a trend that is happening. “Exosomes are the most popular right now, but for me, the data on exosomes isn’t where I want it to be yet,” says Caroline Hirons, a skin expert and the founder of Skin Rocks. “But they have been a [big] topic in 2025, and they are not going away for 2026.”
